ICC Accepts 64 Requests for Arrest Against Senior Israeli Officials

The international body accepted requests from almost 20 states.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) accepted 64 requests from states, organizations and civil society, to intervene in the requests of prosecutor Karim Khan to issue arrest warrants against senior Israeli officials, including prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The following states were accepted: United States, Germany, Palestine, Norway, Ireland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile and Mexico (together), the Union of the Comoros, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Djibouti.
Applications were also accepted from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, pro-Israeli personalities including US Senator Lindsey Graham and Jewish scholars.
In this regard, the comments to be submitted by the parties should not exceed 10 pages and must be submitted before 6 August.
For his part, prosecutor Karim Khan requested arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on May 20 for war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip Gaza.
He also requested warrants for the arrest of three of Hamas’ top leaders, including their leader, Ismail Haniyeh.
